I am in a terrible mood today.
Mainly because it is freezing cold outside,
I didn't get a lot of sleep last night,
my professor was disappointed with me,
I didn't get to pilot test my experiment,
and Dollar General no longer sells diffusing reeds.
On the positive side,
I went to all my classes,
lunch was pretty good,
I finished writing a paper that is due tomorrow before midnight,
I tried raspberry Smirnoff,
I ate dinner with my suitemate and her family and my friends,
I washed all my dirty dishes,
my hair didn't look horrid,
and I cleaned my mirrors.
Anyways, I just really want to rant about the things that irk me.
Disclaimer: this entire list is me ranting.
So here is my list:
1. Psychology majors who think their calling in life is analyzing everyone.
-I personally don't think it is appropriate or beneficial to analyze people who don't specifically ask you to. I really think that the bad reputation psychologists have is from people who go around telling people what is wrong with other people. I really don't want to know what my symptoms are telling you, and I don't think anyone else does either. Just because people have tendencies doesn't mean they should be diagnosed with a serious problem.
2. People who promise things and never do them.
-Ok, so I have a problem. I get super excited about things. I don't show it, but if you ask most of my close friends they usually know. Sometimes it is ridiculous stuff. Like this lady told me she was going to hire me to house sit for a week and I was super stoked. Then the week came and she called and canceled spur of the moment and it ruined my entire week. It seems like whenever I get super excited, the plans always fall through. Now I tend to only half believe people, I used to have a set of people I always believed, but even they weren't consistent. So I find that if I don't get excited, then I don't get disappointed.
3. People who talk in class just to talk.
-Sometimes people try to talk just to get participation. I think that there should be a lot of rules about class participation. When you ask the professor to explain something three times in class that is outlined in the textbook makes you look like an idiot, not like a participating student.
4. Being intimidated.
-I tend to get intimidated by people who I feel are judging me. I am usually a pretty talkative person, but when I am around people who intimidate me, I can't think of things to say. I like to look people in the eye, but if I am intimidated I try to avoid eye contact. It's frustrating.
Well that's all of my rants.
