I can fly...

My favorite book of all time when I was a child was I Can Fly by Mary Blair.
The colors are so bold and the story is simple and fun.

The entire book is:

"A bird can fly.
So can I.

I can squirm.
Like a worm.

I can grab.
Like a crab.

Crunch crunch crunch
I'm a goat out to lunch.

Who's busy like a bee?
Me me me.

Who can walk like a bug?
Me! Ug ug.

I'm merrier
Than a terrier.

Swish!
I'm a fish.

Pick pick pick
I'm a little chick.

Who can live in a hole?
Me! Like a mole.

Who can climb anywhere?
Me! Like a bear.

A clam
is what I am.

A cow can moo.
I can too.

My house is
like a mouse's.

Pop pop pop
I'm a rabbit with a hop.

Bump bump bump
I'm a camel with a hump.

Haw haw haw
I'm a donkey in the straw.

Pitter pitter pat
I can walk like a cat.

Howl howl howl
I'm an old screech owl.

Gubble gubble gubble
I'm a mubble in a pubble.
I can play
I'm anything that's anything.
That's MY way."

Stories...

I used to collect stories all the time.
But then some of my friends always told me how horrible they were.
So I stopped telling stories.
If something funny happened,
I wouldn't repeat it because no one cared.
Then I realized that my life was getting really boring.
I had nothing to laugh about because my memory only remembers the things I choose to remember.
Since I no longer told people the pointless stories about my life,
my life was getting stagnant,
I mean I liked my stories,
even if no one else did.
So I started telling my stories again.
Mainly to my family.
And then when I came back to school,
my friend Ang asked me to tell her some stories.
It was probably the best question I have ever been asked.
I'm recollecting stories.
This is too bad for my negative story hating friends.
Mwahahaha.

Selfish Advice...

My friend Racht was having a sad day,
so she was debating whether to go to the cafeteria or campus food store for dinner.
I REALLY wanted to go to the cafeteria.
She asked me and my friend Cheeks for advice on where to eat.
She was deliberating whether she should go to the cafeteria and set forth a good example of being cheerful even on a bad day,
or just go to the store and buy a sandwich and eat in her room.
I decided to help her out and said,
    "Well,
throughout the years I have noticed that no matter where you go,
       there is always someone watching.
So if we go to the cafeteria,
you will most likely inspire someone even if you never know it!"
Then Cheeks said,
    "What are you talking about?
I think it is perfectly fine for Racht to eat in her room!"
I realized that what I had just said was completely ridiculous.
I mean I never say greeting card junk like that.
So I told Racht,
    "I'm sorry,
      I am being selfish,
I just really want to go to the cafeteria!"
And Racht said,
    "Oh,
      I thought it sounded good,
I was really thinking about going to the cafeteria because of what you said!"
