I don't take compliments well.
My sister recently told me how obnoxious it is for me to ignore compliments.
She also told me how she hates it when people shoot down compliments.
So I decided that I would try to work on accepting compliments.
My grandmother came up to me and said,
"Virginia you are so pretty and photogenic!"
I replied,
"I know, right?"
I then realized that that was also the wrong answer.
I started laughing because I sounded so vain and my grandmother looked at me like I was crazy.
It's not that I don't appreciate compliments,
they actually brighten my day even though you cannot tell by the way I act.
I just feel like compliments are awkward.
So I make them even more awkward by just pretending that the person said nothing.
Or I give the person a compliment too.
I always mean it when I compliment someone,
always.
