Teeth...

I had braces for five years.
They tried to fix my crooked jaw by giving me braces.
I never realized quite how crooked my jaw was until I filmed myself talking.
When I talk,
I talk sideways.
It's awful.
I have become semi-self-conscious about it and I talk with a hand in front of my mouth.
This is a problem because on top of my mumbling,
you can barely hear what I am saying.
Five years of braces has taught me a few things.
Firstly,
the list of foods they give you mean nothing.
I ate all of those food all five years and none of my brackets ever fell off.
Secondly,
you notice all the older people who still have braces.
Thirdly,
when you get them off you see how big your teeth actually are.
I hated my teeth for the first week after getting my braces off.
I actually asked if I could get them back on.
When I was young I had an under-bite.
It was extremely uncomfortable.
I hardly ever smiled with my teeth showing.
But now,
I always smile with my teeth.
If its real,
it's pearly.
(The dot on my lip is a freckle, not food.)
